Projects gas in the proper directions to keep flash footprint to a minimum. Also channeling a small amount of gas through a port upward to help diminish muzzle climb. The Length and inside texture help keep the flash signature to a minimum for most 5.56/.223 bullet grain weights. Flash less shooting experience.
