The critical anchoring carabiner is one of CMC’s most advanced. All high-strength anodized aluminum, the ProTech Manual-Lock Carabiner is smooth, snag-proof, and virtually as fast as an automatic. Its wide 1” locking gate—unusual in an NFPA-L rated biner so compact and light—stays unlocked until you snap it into place, then locks with a quick ¼-turn for a totally secure attachment. A removable Keeper Pin separates the terminated escape line from the gate for fast, dependable operation. A ProTech Screw Lock carabiner offers the same light weight, wide opening, and snag-free Key Lock advantages, but with a basic screw lock for a secure connection between your belt and the proven, ultra-light CMC Survivor 8 Descender. It all fits neatly into CMC’s heavy-duty Cordura Survivor Escape Bag, which is uniquely designed to hold everything securely, yet allow almost instant access to the escape anchor and rope. It attaches to your belt or harness with hook & loop, or you can thread your belt through the tunnel loop.
